MINDFUL WINTER ADVENTURE.

Snowshoes
suit you well.

When in winter nature around our activity hotel at Reschen Pass shows its best side, then it’s hard to resist getting out into the great outdoors. Of course, you could also just bunk up in your cozy bed. But it would be a shame to miss out on a date with this winter dream. And it doesn’t always have to be skiing. Away from the pistes it’s much more peaceful, but no less adventurous.

Once you’ve tried snowshoeing, you’ll want to do it again and again. Especially when you’re in the Reschen Pass holiday region. Like some touring tips? Here you are!

This scenic border hike in Upper Venosta Valley runs continuously along the border to Austria and to Switzerland, below the 3-country Pizlad Peak. The panorama spans from Inn Valley and Engadin all the way to the mountains around Samnaun and Nauders, from Lake Reschen to the Ortler Range.

  • Duration: 1 hour

Take the gondola lift up to Schöneben upper terminus at 2,120 m above sea level. You can also make your way up on foot and the effort is well worth it. From here you will also get to the wide Alpine pastures of Schöneben, a world unto its own. The trail continues to Rojen with its wonderful mountain panorama.

  • Start: Schöneben
  • Elevation gain: 650 m
  • Finish: Reschen
  • Duration: 2 h 30 min

The high plateau of Plamourt above Reschen village once served as a military defensive fortification and was part of the rampart at Reschen Pass. In winter you can still see parts of the anti-tank barriers – the snowshoe hike up to Plamourter high plateau, views of the Ortler range included, is also suitable for those interested in history. Start of the three-hour hike is the forest track next to the football pitch in Reschen, the clearings open up views into the valley time and again.

  • Start: Reschen football pitch
  • Duration:  3 hours

The winter hike to Reschner Alm on snowshoes is among the most scenic snowshoe hikes in Upper Venosta Valley. The view from Reschner Alm of frozen Lake Reschen to prominent Klopaierspitze Summit and Schöneben ski area is truly unique.

  • Start: Pofellift Reschen
  • Altitude difference: 520 m
  • Finish: Reschner Alm
  • Duration: 2 h 30 min
